How does Sex Counselling help?
First, it gets you to talk about your concerns. Sex counselling can be empowering, as it provides you with knowledge, helps you to focus on your inner strengths, and allows you to have conversations in a safe environment. Some of the methods that we use include acceptance and commitment therapy, strengths-based approach, and solution-focused therapy. A lot of times, men can be anxious around sex and this can lead to performance issues and concerns. Talking through this really helps.
In your counselling session, you will have an open and honest conversation with your counsellor. Your counsellor or psychologist will likely ask about your personal, physical, and sexual history, in order to gain a better understanding of your experience. In our practice based in Subiaco, Perth, you will find both gay friendly and gay identifying counsellors who understand your situation and treat you with respect and discretion.

This first session is an opportunity to see if our services are a good fit for you and if you feel comfortable enough to share. We also allow extra time after your first visit so that we can provide extra support, if needed. For the first appointment, we can also chat online via Zoom or on the phone you can book these sessions on our website. We do prioritise our face to face sessions as we find clients get more value from this process so if you can hold on for a bit you'll find a time that will work for you.
