Hi! I'm Keith and I am a qualified supervisor, couples therapist and accrediated clinical psychosexual therapist. I work with a supervisee from primarily a strengths based approach to supervision incorporating reflective practice. Supervision involves not only clinical support but also supporting your wellbeing and self-care practice, things we are sometimes great at supporting our clients with but not always ourselves. I love working in a collaborative way, where Supervision is a safe space for you to grow as a therapist, to challenge yourself in a supported environment. Being a therapist is not always easy and we all need the opportunity to feel that we can be authentic and can tell someone when we are having a tough day, or doubting ourselves or that old friend imposter syndrome or I'm not good enough to do this might be showing up. Supervision needs to be a safe, non-judgemental space and it is also multi-dimensional and flexible to provide support with ethical issues, administration concerns, private practice issues and a host of other things.
Areas of Expertises
I offer specialist sexuality and relationship therapist supervision sessions for therapists (counsellors, social workers, psychologists etc) who are interested in sexual concerns and as well as whose are interested in the following modalities: ACT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Solutions and Strength Focussed Therapy modalities. My core expertises are working with those in private practice.
Qualifications
Diploma of Counselling, (MACA)
Masters in Science in Medicine in Sexual and Reproductive Health, majoring in Psychosexual Therapy (USyd)
Accrediated Clinical Psychosexual Therapist (SAS)
Gottman Level 1 & 2 Training
STEP Up Supervision - https://www.supervisiontrainingservices.com.au (ACA and PACFA recognised training)
Why work with me?
Supervision is a really special kind of relationship, and as a private practitioner you want support, knowing someone always has your back so that it does not feel like you are on your own, being able to share without judgement or assessment and maybe also having accountability for the things you want to accomplish as a practitioner.
Having over 6 years experience in private practice, I appreciate the challenges, struggles and sometimes heart break (and heart ache) of being a private practitioner. I believe that to be a supervisor it is critical to be available, whilst modelling good boundaries and if something comes up between say monthly supervision, I offer 15 minute debriefs. This allows you to know you are supported but also not feel guilty reaching out for support between sessions as this is part of my service offering. I also have a network of other supervisors so if i'm ever on holidays I will make sure that you have a back up option for support, you might never need it, but if you do you'll be glad its available.
Given that supervision is really about having the right fit, i offer a free 15 minute discovery chat for potential supervisees, and if you are ready to take the jump you can book your discovery chat below.
Have questions? Or are ready to book?
Fees are $100.00 for individual supervision. (This is discounted as i have a committment to supporting the development of the sexology sector). Supervision is offered face to face or online sessions using Zoom.
If you have other question, the best way to get them answer is to book a free 15 minute discovery chat, which you can do below.
